Keller, a P&G veteran, joined the H.J. Heinz Co. in 1998 and rose in late 2002 to chief growth officer. In that role, he oversaw a $200 million marketing budget for Heinz’s lineup of ketchup, frozen foods and sauces. Subsequently, Keller was advanced to chairman and CEO of Heinz Italy, and president of Heinz Southern Europe. At P&G, he served as marketing director for U.S. Snacks and on global development for Pringles.

LONDON—Nokia Corp. is teaming with Turner Broadcasting to offer content from the Cartoon Network directly to wireless users.

Subscribers will be able to browse and download games, video clips and other offerings from a dedicated mobile storefront via the Nokia Content Discoverer client, which is embedded in some of Nokia’s Series 40 and Series 60 handsets. SINGAPORE—The GSM Association said 12 operators joined its “3G for All” campaign, which aims to make third-generation wireless service available to the mass market.

Cingular Wireless L.L.C., Globe Telecom, Hutchison 3G, KTF, MTN, Orange, Smart, Telecom Italia, Telefonica, Telenor, T-Mobile and Vodafone Group plc are participating in the first phase of the project, which calls for the carriers to select a flagship 3G handset designed to appeal to the mass market. OVERLAND PARK, Kan.—Sprint Nextel Corp. officially announced plans to move forward with Qualcomm Inc.’s QChat push-to-talk service, which the carrier said will work across both its iDEN and CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Revision A networks.

The carrier currently uses iDEN technology to offer push-to-talk services to customers on the Nextel portion of its network. Sprint Nextel offers its ReadyLink PTT product for its CDMA customers, but is seen by most as inferior in performance to its iDEN offering. SEOUL, South Korea—As promised, the world’s two tier-one Korean handset vendors rebounded from their second-quarter doldrums.

Based on handset shipment volumes—and despite a strong showing in North American markets—LG Electronics Co. Ltd. slipped to fifth place in global rankings behind a surging Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications L.P., with 16.5 million units shipped in the quarter. Sony Ericsson shipped 20 million handsets in the quarter. Samsung Electronics Co.
